Working With BT
General Conditions of Contract

Introducing the General Conditions

BT reserves the right to propose contractual terms and conditions that it considers appropriate to a particular procurement requirement. However, to speed up the contracting process and to reduce the volume of paper transactions, BT has developed a simple. abridged web-based set of terms and conditions ("the General Conditions") that it may elect to contract upon by reference where appropriate.

Viewing the General Conditions

Rather than issue the General Conditions with each contract, standard purchase order or invitation to tender ("Contract Document"), BT will, where relevant, incorporate them by hyper-linked reference to then current version of the General Conditions.

The latest version of the General Conditions is available here:

You will need an Adobe Acrobat Reader (available for download here) to view the General Conditions. If you are otherwise having difficulty viewing them, please call the BT person named in the relevant Contract Document.

Applying the General Conditions

The General Conditions will typically be used where BT has a relatively straightforward requirement. Of course, the General Conditions will not bind you or BT unless they are expressly stated to apply to in the relevant Contract Document. In some cases, BT may choose to vary the General Conditions, but the extent of those variations will be made clear in the Contract Document itself.
