Management Consultancy is concerned with improving the efficiency of the business and can be defined as:

"The buying in of intellectual and / or professional expertise from outside the company on matters or activities for which no in-house specialist resource exists"


Details
The Consultancy Procurement Team procure and manage the provision of a wide range of high quality, externally sourced consultancy services which represents best value for money whilst ensuring that contractual deliverables and timescales are met. Some of the main consultancy areas making up Management Consultancy are Process Re-engineering, Organisational Transformation, Scope and efficiency Studies, Benchmarking Studies, Change Management, HR related and Finance Consultancy.

NOTE - this DOES NOT include IT Services, Temporary Personnel, or Recruitment . These are purchase under those headings, by different teams within BT.


Current & Forthcoming Requirements
BT Procurement will be looking to conduct a review of the management consultancy market within Q3/Q4 of 2007/08. From such a review, both generalist and specialist companies will be invited to tender for various categories of management consultancy. The aim is to produce pan-BT preferred framework supplier lists for all categories of management consultancy. Gateway criteria may be used to shortlist potential suppliers invited to tender although such details would be communicated to suppliers accordingly.
