Introduction
The role of the Environmental Services Unit is to effectively provide and manage the procurement and performance of company wide services for the resale, recycling and disposal of surplus and redundant equipment and products in line with BT's ISO 14001 Registration and the Environmental Protection Act 1990. We also procure services involving specialised waste recyclers.
Details
We currently have corporate contracts in place for the following:-

Sale of Telephone Directories
Collection of redundant Cisco equipment from customer premises. These are then placed on a web page for re-use within BT or can be sent for repair and re-issue instead of buying new
Recycling of surplus & redundant cable and wires
Recycling of surplus and redundant engineering equipment
Motor vehicle and engine wastes
Tree Cutting
Resale of returned consumer equipment
Sale of redundant Warehousing equipment
Sale or recycling of Computer equipment
Sale or recycling of Telephone poles
Battery Recycling to include Lead Acid Batteries/Alkaline, NiCad Batteries
Hazardous (special) wastes

Fuel Tank removals
To increase revenue returns back to BT we now offer re-sale opportunities for warehouse equipment, engines, generators, Cisco equipment, telephone systems, computer equipment and any other items that we believe may generate a sales opportunity instead of sending the material for recycling.
